He as John Hann, husbandman, of "Abbots-stock in the County of Dorsett" signed the inventory of "Joane Hann the Elder, widdow late of Dallwood in the County of Dorsett spinster deceased". Other signatories were Henry Seymour of Dallwood, Gent and William Dommett of Kilmington on the County of Devon husbandman (Hen. Seymor having been a witness to her will the previous year, when she described herself as being of "Coombs-head in the parrish of Dallwood") on 8 May 1699. He was a church warden in 1705 at St Mary's Church, Stoke Abbott, Dorset. He left a will on 26 May 1730. He died between 26 May 1730 and 3 June 1730 at Dalwood, Devon. He was buried on 3 June 1730 at St Peter's Church, Dalwood, Devon. An inventory of his estate was taken. His estate was probated on 7 November 1730; granted to Maria Han, widow.

He was bequeathed the linen and woollen wearing apparel of his grandfather, John Roper, yeoman, of Stoke Abbott under the terms of is will. He also earned any profit from crops grown on John Roper's land until Joan Welch became of age on 29 April 1731. He underwent a Settlement Examination "Dorset - To wit an Examination of John Hann now living in the Parish of Stoke Abbott in the County of Dorset taken on Oath before me one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid the 3rd Day of February 1752. (touching the place of his ...... + legal settlement.) Who saith that he was born in the Parish of Stoke Abbott as his parents informed him; he farther saith that he was an hired servant to Mrs Ann Strode or to Thomas Strode Esqre. of Parnham in the Parish of Beaminster in the County of Dorset about thirty years ago as a lader at his mill in ye Parish of Beaminster and continued in that service three years and was hired by the year at three pounds four shillings a year and received his wages according to the said agreement and he lodged in the said mill; Some years after he hired himself as a servant to his father in the Parish of Stoke Abbott aforesaid and served him one year for which service he received four pounds and had meat, drink, washing and lodging; And he farther saith that he has an house and orchard in the Parish of Dalwood and he paid the officers of Dalwood the rates and taxes he also let out the said house and orchard to one William Gould who the Examinant saith hath paid the taxes and was reimbursed the same by him and he hath not done any act or acts whereby to gain a Settlement but as above. He owned a house and orchard that he let out to Wiliiam Gould on 3 February 1752 at Dalwood, Devon. He died in December 1752 at Stoke Abbott, Dorset, at age 69. He was buried on 8 December 1752 at St Mary's Church, Stoke Abbott, Dorset.

He married Jane Symes, daughter of Francis Symes, on 3 September 1749 at St Mary the Virgin Church, Netherbury, Dorset. William Hann was a miller between 19 March 1751 and 8 September 1784. On 19 March 1750/51 William and his brother Roger Hand alias Hann (miller of Wareham) were charged with administering the estate of their late mother Mary Hand alias Hann of Stoke Abbott. He married Mary Taylor, daughter of John Hill and Deanes Staple, on 14 October 1766 at St Mary's Church, Stoke Abbott, Dorset; the witnesses were Arthur Hann and Diana Norman. William Hann and his wife Mary signed an indenture for a further £30 loan from Ann Brickell bringing their total indebtedness to £120 on 18 February 1772. He with his wife Mary, her sister Jane and Jane's husband, Samuel Warren, signed an agreement with James Burt regarding the sale of property on 25 November 1773 at Westminster Hall - the Court of Common Pleas, Westminster, Greater London. He with Mary, her sister Jane and brother-in-law Samuel Warren agrred to lease the property inherited by Mary and Jane from their father John Hill to Ann Brickell and her heirs for a thousand years at a rent of one peppercorn on 8 September 1774. He appeared before Bridport Sessions [possibly in an official capacity] charged with causing a nuisance with regard to the highways in Stoke Abbott on 17 September 1774. He appeared at the Blandford Sessions in regard to his conviction for causing a nuisance on 10 January 1775. As William Hann, yeoman, of Stoke Abbott having been brought before Quarter Sessions at Bridport on 17 September 1774 and Blandford on 10 Jan 1775 had a fine mitigated to the one shilling he had already paid when a Surveyors of Highways Certificate of Repairs was filed with the court. He advertised his intention to sell some of his estate in Green Lane near the border with Broadwindsor parish on 31 March 1777. He leased land to John Morey with a Land Tax assessment of £3 12s 0d. He was Parish Clerk between 1783 and 1784 at Stoke Abbott, Dorset. He died on 17 February 1790 at Stoke Abbott, Dorset. He was buried on 21 February 1790 at St Mary's Church, Stoke Abbott, Dorset; His headstone (a small upright stone) reads "In memory of/William Hann who/ died Feb 17th 1790/Aged 80 Years Also/Two Wifes(sic) Buried here." After William's headstone was photographed in 2012 it moved from its east-facing position east of the yew tree directly to the south of the Rogers and Ansell graves. In 2019 it was found a lot further down the southern slope of the graveyard facing west and propped up against the grave of Herbert Woodland. Hopefully in due course William and his two wifes will be re-united with their stone.

He was buried on 29 July 1783 at St Mary's Church, Stoke Abbott, Dorset; His headstone (a double medium upright stone) reads on one side "Here lieth/the body of/Arthur Hann/Who departed/this life July 25th 1783/Aged 67 years and on the adjoining side - Also here/lieth the body/of Mary Hann the wife/of Arthur Hann/Who departed this/life February 14th/1802 Aged 66 years underneath which is written .... He was born circa 1752 at Stoke Abbott, Dorset. He was christened on 27 January 1751/52 at St Mary's Church, Stoke Abbott, Dorset. He was the son of William Hann and Jane Symes. George Hann was served with a Bastardy Order having been judged to be the father of a daughter by Mary Welch and was ordered to pay 1s 3d to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor on 11 April 1777. A report of her funeral appeared in the Cambria Daily Leader on 16 November 1917. Her estate was probated on 10 January 1918; granted to Clifford Clarence Hann (steel worker), husband.
