He was the son of Roger Hann and Sarah Michel. William Hann married Betty Symonds, daughter of Richard Symonds and Elizabeth Crocker, on 9 June 1773 at St Mary the Virgin Church, Puddletown, Dorset; the witnesses were Samuel Hooper and Reuben Rice. The bridge's name was recorded as Betty Simons. William Hann was awarded second prize at the annual pink (flower) feast, according to the 4th July edition of the Salisbury and Winchester Journal on 24 June 1825 at Back Street - Royal Oak Inn, Puddletown, Dorset. He was a gardener on 16 January 1828. He left a will on 16 January 1828. He died on 11 October 1828 at Puddletown, Dorset, at age 76. He was buried on 16 October 1828 at St Mary the Virgin Church, Puddletown, Dorset; at the time of his burial he was recorded as being a shoemaker. His estate was probated on 18 November 1828; granted to Joseph Burden, son-in-law. The release of money related to William's Public Funds and Stocks Funds and Securities to Joseph Burden was approved by the Bank of England.

George Hand - when he could be bothered to work - was a Jack-of-all-trades who quickly drank away any meagre wages he earned. He was a violent, degenerate man who died of consumption in 1822, leaving his widow with seven children to raise.
He was buried on 2 March 1822 at St Osmond's Church, Melbury Osmond, Dorset.

John Hand was christened on 10 November 1776 at St Mary the Virgin Church, Puddletown, Dorset. It is not known when John married or died, as no incidence of either in the UK has been found yet. He is not mentioned in William's will so may have pre-deceased him or it not be known whether he was alive, but a 2015 guestbook entry and a 2009 entry for Affpuddle on www.curiousfox.com states that the John Hand of Newfoundland who reverted to the Hann surname was born in Affpuddle. No condirmation of this fact appears to be online. Some of John Hand/Hann of Newfoundland's descendants are shown in the hope that somebody researching these can provide the link to Affpuddle/Puddletown. He married Ann Unknown; This may at a pinch though not likely) have been the marriage between John Hann of St Dunstan-in-the-West, City of London and Ann Moore of St Andrew, Holborn married at Holborn on 26 December 1795 which is the only UK one found so far that fits the timescale. John Hand died in February 1824 at Cape Freels, Bonavista Bay, Newfoundland, at age 47.1 He was buried in February 1824 at Cape Freels - Cape Cove United Church Cemetery, Bonavista Bay, Newfoundland.
