He with Thomas Ousley, was a witness to the marriage of his brother, William, with Eliza Hawker on 29 June 1846 at St Mary the Virgin Church, Thorncombe, Dorset. He married Mary Wilkins in September 1848 at Bridport R D, Dorset. Robert Hann was a cordwainer/shoemaker between 25 March 1849 and 3 April 1881. As of 30 March 1851, Robert Hann lived at Allington, Dorset. He was sent to Dorchester Gaol pending trial for theft in November 1855. As of 7 April 1861, Robert Hann lived at Durngate Street (24), Dorchester, Dorset; his name was recorded as Robert Hand. On 1 May 1865 at Dorchester Borough Petty Sessions Charles Dawe of Beaminster was charged with violently assaulting Robert in Cornhill the previous evening. His daughter had been standing near the Bristish School in Durngate Street when Dawe had stolen her cape. Robert followed Dawe to Cornhill, challenged him and was knocked down. He was then hit violently several times and was covered in blood. The assault had been witnessed by Superintendentt Pouncy and Dawe was sentenced to 7 days' hard labour. He was sentenced at the Dorset Quarter Sessions to one month's imprisonment for stealing a pair of half boots from John Roper in January 1866. He had bought several articles from Mr Reyno;ds's shop for himself and his neighbours and stopped at the George as usual and put the parcels on the kitchen table. It was not until he got home he realised that his parcel and whip were not there and sent his daughter Ellen back the following morning to fetch them. On talking to the servant dhe was told a parcel had been found that appeared to contain a suit of clothes and it had been moved to the dining room. It was not there nor in the bar. Isaac's wife stated that the parcel contained a jacket for herself (10s 9d) a jacket for her husband (13s 6d) a hat (3s 3d) and apair of gloves and handkerchief (2s) also the whip (1s) which she had paid for. She did not know what had happened at the George on the night concerned but Mrs Harding at the George had told her previously that if she had any parcels to leave she could leave them with her in the bar. It was determined that there was contributory negligence on both sides and Isaac was awarded compensation but without costs. As of 3 April 1881, Isaac Hann lived at Birdsmoorgate (27), Broadwindsor, Dorset. He qualified to vote as occupier of a dwelling house between 1888 and 1889 at Payne's Down 'Payne's Cottage', Thorncombe, Dorset. Following the death of his wife Isaac signalled his intention to move away by putting a notice advising of the sale of household furniture and effects at Payne's Cottage in the Bridport News. As of 31 March 1901, Isaac Hann lived at Tloty Undeb Casnewydd (Newport Union Workhouse), Sant Gwynllyw (St Woolos), Casnewydd (Newport); was recorded as East Coker-born Isaac Hanns. She died on 10 June 1892 at Chard Road (later Chard Junction) railway station, Tatworth, Somerset, at age 55; from a severe head injury caused by a stone where her head had hit the road when she took of the horse's blind halter, to allow it to feed whilst awaiting a passenger, and it was spooked and bolted. She had tried to control the horse by holding onto its mane but was thrown to the floor after about 10 yards. She was buried on 13 June 1892 at The Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Thorncombe, Dorset. At the Honiton Sessions he was a witness in the case of Arthur James Dando (antique dealer) of Bath who was charged with 'driving a motor car to the danger of the public.' The defendant was fined £2 with costs pending an appeal. He was successful in a case at Axminster County Court in a claim of £3 against Frank Tucker, Stockland postman, as money due for rabibit shooting on his Stockland farm also in the counter claim for £3 7s 6d by Tucker as pay for shooting rabbits and cleaning two sheep carcasses for which he had not been paid. His conention was that he had seen it when visiting the field to see an old car and as it was near the gate thought Mr down was going to dispose of it so took it home with him with the intention of sorting something out with Mr Down another day. The court was satisfied that the lurcher should not need to be destroyed and awarded Kathleen 10s expenses. Bishop paid the court costs. Pleading guilty, he said he had been 'taking a drop too much at Christmas time' and was said to have struck the officer once or twice on the arm and chest when he was being put in the lock-up on 3 January 1901. As of 31 March 1901, Walter Hann lived at West Allington 61, Allington, Dorset; he was living with George Wheadon (poultry dealer and innkeepr), his wife, Priscilla, and family. Between 1911 and 1912 Walter and Emily appear to have finally separated as in 1912 she is back at Education Place, Bridport and stays in the town for the rest of her life, whereas Walter seems to go off to Bristol. He died in September 1939 at Bristol.
