He was a mason's labourer on 3 April 1881. As of 5 April 1891, George Hand lived at Ryme Lane (99c), Yetminster, Dorset. He was a general labourer on 5 April 1891. Between the 1891 and 1911 censuses George and his mother appear to have moved from Yetminster but we have not been able to trace neither on the 1901 census, nor a death for Ann as Hand or Hand. By 1911 George is living alone. As of 2 April 1911, George Hand lived at The Village (35), Melbury Osmond, Dorset; He completed his census form as George Hann. He was a farm labourer on 2 April 1911. He died on 25 April 1932 at Beaminster R D, Dorset, at age 73; The old paper family trees written up by George Ernest Hann, the person who first tried to research the Dorset Hann families, show George as having died on 25 Apr 1932 with Stoke Abbott in brackets. I have been unable to substantiate this as, although the death was registered in Beaminster R D (as was Melbury Osmond though he does not appear in the Dorset OPC site list of monumental inscriptions), there is no entry for such in the Stoke Abbott burial registers.
