Transcription of a final agreement dated 25 November 1773 (Dorset Record Office: D/FFO NG30)

"This is the final agreement made in the Court of our Sovereign Lord the King at Westminster in fifteen days of St Martin in the Thirteenth year of the Reign of George the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France & Ireland King Defender of the Faith et. before William DeGrey Henry Gould William Blackstone & George Nares Justices of our Lord the King & others then & there present Between James Burt and William Hann & Mary his wife & Samuel Warren & Jane his wife Deforcts.? of one Messuage one Stable one Curtilage one Garden one Orchard Eight acres of Land eight acres of meadow & eight acres of pasture with the appurt(enance)s. in Stoke Abbotts whereupon a plea of covenant was sumoned between them in the same Court that is to say the afores(ai)d William & Mary & Samuel & Jane have acknowledged the afores(ai)d Tenem(en)ts with the appurt(enance)s to be the Right of him the s(ai)d James as those which the s(ai)d James hath of the Gift of the afores(ai)d William & Mary & Samuel & Jane and those they have Remised & Quitclaimed from them the s(ai)d William & Mary & Samuel & Jane & their heirs to the afores(ai)d James and his heirs forever and moreover the s(ai)d William & Mary have granted for them & the heirs of the s(ai)d William that they will warr(an)t to the afores(ai)d James & his heirs the afores(ai)d Tenem(en)ts with the appurt(enance)s against them the s(ai)d William & Mary & the heirs of the s(ai)d William & Mary forever and Further the s(ai)d William & Mary have granted for them & the heirs of the s(ai)d Mary that they will Warr(an)t to the afores(ai)d James & his heirs the afores(ai)d Tenem(en)ts with the appurt(enance)s against them the s(ai)d Samuel & Jane & the heirs of the s(ai)d Samuel forever and also the s(ai)d Samuel & Jane have granted for them & the heirs of the s(ai)d Jane that they will Warr(an)t to the afores(ai)d James & his heirs the afores(ai)d Tenem(en)ts with the appurt(enance)s against them the s(ai)d Samuel & Jane & the heirs of the s(ai)d Jane forevere and for this acknowledgem(en)t Remise Quitclaim Warr(an)tyes Fine & Agreem(en)t the s(ai)d James hath given the afores(ai)d William & Mary & Samuel & Jane Sixty pounds sterling."
