An NSPCC inspector gave evidence that he would not work, the house was in dirty condtion and this five children were malnourished. His wife said that he rarely gave her any money and whilst he was supposed to be ill he played tip-cat with the local boys. The Chairman of the Bench told him he was a 'lazy hound' and would be sent to a place where he would not be able to play tip-cat. He having been sentenced to 3 months in prison for cruelty to children was granted 14 days remission and was imprisoned between 5 July 1917 and 20 September 1917. He was at Swansea Police Court yet again on 13 November 1917. This time for animal cruelty having driven a horse to the Uplands on 27 October with a heavy load of coal when the horse already had two sores under its saddle which were congealed and from which matter was flowing. He was fined £25 or three months imprisonment. He having not paid the £25 fine for ill-treating a horse been sentenced to or a £25 was granted 14 days remission his default 90 days prison sentence and was sent to gaol between 20 February 1918 and 6 May 1918. As of between 1921 and 29 September 1939, Albert Edward Hann lived at Stryd Frederic (Frederick Street) 3, Brynhyfryd (Landore), Abertawe (Swansea). He was sentenced at Swansea Borough Court to 21 days' imprisonment for being drunk amd disorderly on 19 December 1921. Was released on 8 January 1922 having paid 30s of the 40s fine (alternative to imprisonment) and recorded as being a 5' 3.5" tall 35 year-old shoemaker with dark brown hair. He registered with Swansea County Borough Council under the National Registration Act. Was registered as Albert E Hanns on 29 September 1939. As of between 1945 and December 1956, Albert Edward Hann lived at Heol Manselton (Manselton Road) 147, Manselton, Abertawe (Swansea). He died in December 1956 at Abertawe (Swansea) at age 69.
