He was a farm carter on 31 March 1901. As of 31 March 1901, George Kerslake lived at Lewell (54), West Knighton, Dorset. He died on 29 September 1916 at Mouquet Farm?, Ovillers-la-Boisselle, Somme, at age 29; of his wounds as 12579 - Private, 5th Battalion, Dorsetshire Regiment. He was buried after 29 September 1916 at Contay British Cemetery (grave II.D.18), Contay, Somme; his grave also bears the inscription 'Ever in our memory, dear father, mother, brothers and sisters' He is remembered on the war memorial in Owermoigne church.
