He served aboard the Revenge class battleship HMS Royal Sovereign between 2 January 1917 and 26 July 1919. As of between 1918 and 1925, Arthur Edwin Snell lived at Coombe Street - coombe Terrace 2, Axminster, Devon. He returned to Portsmouth between 27 July 1919 and 30 August 1919. He served aboard HMS Royal Sovereign again between 31 August 1919 and 28 January 1921. He transferred to Plymouth Division on 28 January 1921. He served with 8th Battaion, Royal Marines between 24 February 1921 and 18 February 1922. He was statined at Plymouth before transerring to Deal for discharge between 19 February 1922 and 10 March 1922. He ended military service on 9 June 1922.
