The groom's surname was recorded as Wakeley. As of between 7 June 1841 and February 1856, John Wakely lived at Dibberford - North Dibberford Farm, Broadwindsor, Dorset. He was a farmer between 7 June 1841 and February 1856. He left a will on 27 January 1856; in this he left a close of land called Great Knowle to his brother Thomas's son John and after his death to his son John; a close of land called Great Longbarrow to Thomas's son Henry and after his death to his son Albert John; closes called Higher Knowle and Lower Knowle to to his son George's son George; a close called Knowle to with a bit that was added following the death of his John's wife to George senior's son Charles and after his death to his son Frederick Geoirge; to his wife £1000; to George senior's daughter Ruth Letitia £100; the residue to his friend Peter Cox, Gentleman, of Beaminster and to Francis Farnham son of his wife's brother Robert Farnham to convert into money to pay of his debts, bury him and erect a headstone, one fifth of the remainder to go to his brother Henry and another fifth to his sister Elizabeth Smith, the other three fifths to pay £20 annually to his brothers William, George and Thomas until it is exhausted - if Willam dies beforehand the remainder to be divided equally between his brothers and sister and if George dies to his children (except George and Ruth Letitia) and if Thomas dies to all his children; if his wife dies before the expiry of the lease on lands from Robert and John Davy the lease to go in equal parts to the persons to whom he has already devised the different parts; all the other freehold and copyhold is passed to Cox and Farnham to enable them to sell and pay bequests subject to deduction of their expenses. Witnesses were James Warden, solicitor of Beaminster and Harriet Farnham In a codicil of the same date he leaves all his household goods and clothes to his wife Ruth. An advertisement regarding the sale of the farm appeared in the Sherborne Mercury. His estate was probated on 16 July 1856; granted to Peter Cox, friend and Francis Farnham, nephew.

George Wakely married Letitia Bond on 22 March 1822 at St Stephen's Church, Winsham, Somerset; witnesses were WT Stuckey, A Bond and Joseph Hodder. As of 25 May 1823, George Wakely lived at Mosterton, Dorset. He was a farmer between 25 May 1823 and 30 March 1851. George and Letitia appear to have separated as he then lived in Southampton and Beaminster and she and the children moved in with her brother in Broadwindsor. As of 7 June 1841, George Wakely lived at Chedington, Dorset. As of 30 March 1851, George Wakely lived at Victoria Road (23), Shirley, Southampton; was visiting Alfred (tailor) and Ann Haysom. He was a retired farmer on 7 April 1861. As of 7 April 1861, George Wakely lived at Meerhay - Cherry Cottage Farm, Beaminster, Dorset; was staying with Simon Bowditch (agricultural labourer) and his family. He died on 23 January 1863 at Beaminster, Dorset, at age 71. He was buried on 27 January 1863 at St Mary's Church, Mosterton, Dorset; was recorded as George Wakley of Beaminster.
