Plot 559 on the 1839 Tithe Map of Stoke Abbott, it was recorded as a house, garden and orchard
owned by Henry Wheadon but occupied by George Hann junior
with an area of 32 perches (968 square yards) and a tithe of 4s 6d
At the time it was the Anchor Inn, but is now known as Anchor House
