The Steam Trawler 'Sophron' (official no 113244 - GY1270) which was built by Cook, Welton and Gemmell of Hull and Beverley and replaced the 1899 'Sophron' that was wrecked on 29 September 1902 at Suleskerry, Orkneys. Its yard number was 348 and it was launched on 25 May 1903, being registered on 17 June 1903. In 1914 it was requisitioned by the Royal Navy from the Standard Steam Fishing Co Ltd of Grimsby and became a minesweeper pennant number FY725. It was sunk by a mine laid by a mine whilst sweeping near the wreck of UC-41 off Fairway Buoy. Alfred was one of eight crew lost
