He sports a moustache and is wearing the 5-pouch leather bandolier (and possibly breeches - though difficult to see) worn by ARmy Service Corps drivers His sleeve carries the rank insignia of Lance Corporal, however there is nothing in his record to show he held this rank, so it was possibly a temporary 'in-the-field' promotion
