Transcription of the will of Mary Ann Joy (formerly Hann, formerly Meech, nee Hansford) dated 3 January 1906 (Dorset Record Office PPR:CW:1906/15)

This is the last Will and Testament of me Mary Ann Joy formerly the wife of Willam Frampton Hann of Bridport but now the wife of Henry Joy of Culham Abingdon Berks. I give to my Executors hereinafter named all my Real and Personal Estate of whatever nature or kind and wheresoever situate. Upon trust to convert the same into money and thereout to pay my just debits funeral and testamentary expenses and then Upon trust to divide the said Trust Estate equally between my four children viz Mary Jane Willy the wife of Herbert George Willy of Puncknowle Dorset Susannah Morris wife of Charles Morris of The White Lion Hotel Bridport Elizabeth Louisa Best the wife of Henry George Best of West Street Bridport and George Herbert Hann of No 1 West Allington Bridport Grocer. Provided always that of if either of my said children shall die in my lifetime leaving a child or children who shall survive him or her such child or children shall take equally between them the share which his her or their parent or respective parents would have taken under this my Will if such a parent had survived me. And I appoint the said George Herbert Hann and Henry George Best Executors of this my Will.
