Transcription of the Will of David Lane (PROB11/2165-319)

In the Name of God Amen.
I David Lane of Beaminster in the County of DorsetTimber
Merchant do make and publish my last Will and Testament in man-
ner and form following (that is to say) I give devise and bequeath
unto my dear wife Tamzen and her assigns for and during the term
of her natural life All and every my copyhold or customarymessuages
tenements lands and premises situate in the several parishes of Bea-
minster aforesaid and Netherbury in the said County And from and
immediately after the decease of my said wife I give and devise unto
my son David All that dwellinghouse with the closes of landthere-
unto adjoining and belonging situate at or near Stoke Water in the
said parish of Beaminster And also my cottages or dwellinghouses
gardens orchards and premises situate at Netherbury aforesaid
to hold
the same unto my said son David for and during the term of his
natural life And from and after his decease direct that the same
shall be equally divided between his children in equal sharesand
proportions Subject nevertheless to and I hereby expressly charge
and make liable the whole of the premises so given to my said
son David with the payment of the weekly sum of eight shillings
unto my son Tom for and during the term of his natural life And
as to all the rest and residue of my estate both real and personal
I give abd devise the same unto my said wife to be at her own
disposal absolutely subject to the payment of the sum of one hundred
pounds apiece to my two sons Charles and George and my four daugh-
ters I direct that my said son Tom shall have an abiding f..e of .pence
in the dwelling house wherein I now live during his life And I appoint
my said wife and my said son David Joint Executor and Executrix of
this my Will In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my hand the
tenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
