STOKE ABBOTT. - CAUTION TO YOUNG
SPORTSMEN.- A sad gun accident happened to a
young man named John Hann, son of Mr William
Hann, carpenter and builder, of Stoke Abbott, on
the 10th inst. He, with some others
went out for aday's sport at or near
Lewesdon Hill. It appears that Hann had just
discharged his gun and was about to reload it, and
when in the act of ramming, a rabbit came out,
and a yung man named Marsh, of Netherbury,
who was behind Hann, shot at it, the charge lodg-
ing in Hann's right arm just at the elbow, and
shattering the bone in a frightful manner. Drs.
Webb and Broster were soon in attendance and,
abstracted two pieces of bone from the wound. It
was at first thought amputation would be necess-
