SERIOUS MOTORING ACCIDENT NEAR
COLYTON

Mr J Hann, son of Mr F Hann, timber
merchant, was returning from South-
leigh on Monday night on his motor-
cycle, when, at the bottom of
Sidmouth Road the machine skidded,
the rider being thrown violently on to
the road-way, sustaining concussion
and a seriously bruised face and
shoulder. As the accident happened
about 11.30 pm there were not many
people about, but someone heard a
moan, and on investigation found Mr
Hann unconscious. A doctor and
police were sent for, and the unfort-
unate man was removed to his house,
where he regained consciousness,
and he is now progressing favourably.
It is thought the wheel of the machine
caught in a sink trap in the gutter
which is between the footpath and
the road.
