Trnscription of a report in the Bridport News

MOTOR BRAKE SERVICE - The town is gradually
moving with the times. We are to have a motor
hrake service between Bridport and Crewkerne,
this commencing yesterday (Thursday). Realising
that a train service for this district was out of the
question, the residents looked forward to the day
when either the L. & .S. W. R. or G. W. R,
inaugurate a motor service between the West
Dorset and the South Somerset towns, but it is not
to either of these companies we are indebted for the
motor brake service now established but to private
and local enterprise. A well.appointed motor brake
o carry 14 persons will run between Beaminster
Bridport and Crewkerne and s time table will be
found in our advertising column on page 1. Acting
wiseky the proprietorm Mr. Cecil Hann, starts with a
restricted service, but we hope that before long he
will feel justified in adding a later train at Crew-
kerne to his time table The advantages to be
derived from this service will be many and it is
hoped that the advertisement will not fail to be read
by all who are In the habit of visiting the town.
Beaminsterians have now a qniek and cheap means
of reaching either Bridport or Crewkerne. Later we
shall have more to say on the subject. Meanwhile
we congratulate Mr. Cecil Hann on his initiative
and wish him success in his undertaking
