SERIOUS ACCIDENT AT COLYTON

Yesterday, Mr John Quance, miller at
Mr Hann's mills, Colyton, sustained
severe injuries as the result of a fall.
Mr Quance was loading corn into a
waggon from a top storey window or
open doorway, almost 12 feet from the
ground. It is supposed that while the
carter was attending to something
in connexion with the harness, Quance
rested pon the sack of corn, which
tipped forward. Quance, losing his
balance, fell to the ground and the
sack of corn alighted on the top of him.
The poor man's skullis very severely
fractured, and one arm is broken. Dr
Evans was immediately sent for and
attended the case. Last night Quance
was in a serious condition
