Transcription of the will of Edith Mary Hann (nee Collins) dated 25 February 1935 (Dorset Record Office PPR:CW/1936)

This is the last Will and Testament of me Edith Mary Hann of Beaminster in the County of Dorset.

1. I appoint my Husband Albert Hann sole Executor of this my Will

2. I give devise and bequeath unto my said Husband Albert Hann all my real and personal estate whatsoever or wheresoever of which I may die possessed

3. If my husband shall die in my lifetime I give devise and bequeath my Dwellinghouse known as Holmleigh, Beaminster and also my jewellery and personal effects to my Daughter Edith Constance Hann.

4. I give devise and bequeath to my said Daughter Edith Constance Hann all furniture houshold goods and effects at Holmleigh which now or at the time of my death may belong to me with the exception of the large oak chest in the Drawing Room which I bequeath to my Son Arthur Ernest Hann

5. I give devise and bequeath all the residue of my estate and effects Upon trust that my Executors shall thereout pay my debts and funeral and testamentary expenses and all duties which shall be payable at my death and shall stand possessed of the remainder upon trust as to one half thereof for my daughter the said Edith Constance Hann and as to the remainder upon trust for my sons Albert Percy Hann and Arthur Ernest Hann in equal shares but if one of my said sons shall die in my lifetime without leaving issue living at my death my Executors shall hold the said half share upon trust for the survivor

6. If any of my said children shall die in my lifetime leaving issue living at my death such issue shall take the share or shares which his her or their parent would have taken if living at my death.
